The deal

Four players, four boards full of creatures, and this thing costs 1 or 2 mana more often than not. That's not a hypothetical, that's just how Commander games go.

What it does

Deals 13 damage to every creature on the battlefield, which kills almost anything that isn't hexproof, indestructible, or built like a brick. The catch is the cost reduction counts every creature in play, yours included, so you're paying less as the board fills up on both sides.

Where it shines

Any red deck that either goes wide and doesn't mind a reset, or one built around surviving its own sweepers. Group slug and stax shells love it because it buys time while opponents rebuild slower than you do.

Plays well with

The catch

It hits your board too, so you need a plan for what survives or a reason you don't care. Indestructible creatures, tokens you don't mind losing, or a follow-up threat waiting in hand all matter more than the mana cost.
