Goblin Bombardment
Enchantment · Rare
This is a free sacrifice outlet that also closes games, and for {1}{R} that's just an efficient rate.
The interaction
Goblin Bombardment has been generating rules arguments in sacrifice decks since Modern Horizons 2 came out, and the confusion hasn't died down. The activated ability doesn't use the stack the way a lot of players assume.
What it does
You sacrifice a creature, no mana required, and Goblin Bombardment deals 1 damage to any target. Every creature you feed it is a shock to a face or a removal spell on a small blocker.
Where it shines
Aristocrats and combo decks that need a mana-free outlet. Persist creatures like Murderous Redcap loop through it for repeatable damage, and token strategies turn every chump blocker into extra reach.
Plays well with
- Every creature you sac to Goblin Bombardment also pinged for damage the moment it hit the battlefield, so you get paid twice on the same body.
- Yawgmoth turns your board into a card-draw engine, and Goblin Bombardment gives you a second free outlet so you're never bottlenecked on sac fodder.
- Both are mana-free outlets, so you can spread sacrifices across them to dodge board wipes and still cash in for damage.
The catch
One damage per activation is slow against anything with real life totals unless you have volume of creatures or a loop already assembled.
