Bruce Banner // The Incredible Hulk
Legendary Creature — Human Scientist Hero // Legendary Creature — Gamma Berserker Hero · Mythic
Solid card advantage engine on the front half, genuinely exciting but unproven payoff on the back half.
The buzz
Bruce Banner // The Incredible Hulk has been out just over a week, so the track record is thin, but the card is doing enough on paper to warrant a real look before you drop nineteen dollars on it.
What it does
As Bruce Banner, you tap and pay X to draw X cards, but only at sorcery speed, so it's a big-turn draw spell, not an instant-speed trick. Pay to transform him into The Incredible Hulk, a reach and trample threat that gets bigger every time it's dealt damage. If Hulk is attacking when that damage happens, he untaps and you get an extra combat phase.
Where it shines
Ramp-heavy Gruul or Naya decks that can afford to tap out on Bruce Banner for a card draw turn, then later pay the transform cost to bring in a real threat. The extra combat trigger wants ways to make Hulk take combat damage while attacking, so decks already running fight effects or pingers that can target attackers get the most mileage.
The catch
Both abilities are sorcery-speed only, so this does nothing on opponents' turns, and the flashy extra-combat loop specifically requires Hulk to be dealt damage while attacking, not just damaged in general, which is a much narrower window than it first looks.
