SLZ #154
Viewing
A question that keeps coming up with Windfall: how many cards does everyone draw? Not seven, and not what you discarded. Each player draws a number equal to the greatest number of cards any single player discarded this way. If one opponent is sitting on nine cards, you all refill to nine, including the player who emptied their hand to nothing.

The take
Windfall is a wheel that rewards the person who controls hand size, which makes it a politics card as much as a draw spell. Know your table before you cast it.
EDHRec rank 159, at about $4.91
Plays well with
-
Narset, Parter of Veils
Narset keeps opponents from drawing extra cards each turn, so Windfall refills your hand while the table cannot easily take advantage of the same wheel.
-
Brainstorm
Cheap cantrips like Brainstorm let you empty your hand before Windfall resolves, so a bigger opposing hand sets the draw count for you.
-
Whispering Madness
It is another wheel effect, so having it as a backup gives you a second way to refill the table when you need the same payoff.
