How to read the screen

Seven terms carry most of the weight.

Crack
Card value is at least 1.10× the sealed price. The singles inside are expected to be worth more than the box by a clear margin.
Favored
Card value is 1.00× to 1.10× the sealed price. Opening still comes out ahead, but only by a thin margin. The Crack filter and the green marks include it.
Neutral
Card value lands between 0.90× and 1.00× the sealed price. Opening and holding come out close.
Hold
Card value is 0.75× to 0.90× the sealed price. The product is worth more closed than as singles.
Skip
Card value is under 0.75× the sealed price. Buy the singles instead. The Hold filter and the red marks include it.
Ask-based
Fixed-deck value from current asking prices, counting only cards at $0.50 or more. It measures replacement cost, so it carries no verdict.
EV
Expected value: the average card value of opening one product, modeled from the set’s opening odds and today’s singles prices.

Sealed screener FAQ

What does crack or hold mean?

A Crack signal means the cards inside are expected to be worth at least 1.10× the sealed price, so opening beats selling sealed; Favored is the thin-margin band from 1.00× to 1.10×. Hold means expected card value is 0.75× to 0.90× of the price, so the product is worth more closed, and Skip is anything under 0.75×. Between 0.90× and 1.00× the call is Neutral.

How is expected value calculated?

Expected value comes from the set’s opening odds and current card prices, counting only cards priced at $0.50 or more. Fixed decks total the cards they contain at the same $0.50 floor.

Why are some Commander decks marked ask-based?

Their card value uses current asking prices for cards at $0.50 or more, which measures what it would cost to rebuild the deck. These retail-assisted ratios carry no verdict, so the screen marks them ask-based and does not count them.
