WC97 #pm28
The question that keeps coming up around Dack's combo is what a non-blue deck does about it. The honest answer is that blue decks have Force of Will and everyone else is improvising. That gap is why this card still matters years after its Dominaria Remastered reprint.

The take
Force of Will is what lets you take a turn that should lose to open mana and run it anyway. If you play blue and want to win early, it's close to mandatory.
About $56 for a mythic reprint, with an EDHRec rank of 201
Plays well with
-
Fierce Guardianship
It's another free counter for noncreature spells, so with both in hand you can protect a key turn twice without spending any mana.
-
Thassa's Oracle
When an Oracle win hits the stack, Force of Will can be the free answer that stops it, and in your own deck it can protect your Oracle from being countered.
-
Deflecting Swat
Both are free interaction, so you can protect your own play against one removal spell or counter and still have mana up for the rest of your turn.
Force of Will Price Summary
